Uncovering Georgia’s Hidden Mountain Beauty
Get ready for a day of getting into nature with fresh air and spectacular scenery. This journey transports you deep into the Caucasus Mountains, with something new around every corner – from ancient history to landscapes you'll never forget.
What’s on the Plan?
We'll start with one of the country's most legendary spots – Gergeti Trinity Church. Perched atop a hill, this ancient stone church sits amidst snow-covered peaks. History buff? Spiritually inclined? Just like views? This location has got you covered.
Then we will make a brief stop at Gudauri Friendship Monument. It’s an odd piece of Soviet statuary with a nutty beautiful view down into the valley below. Ideal photo stop, and just to take it all in.
Then we will take a car ride along the Aragvi River – a mountain stream winding along green valleys and forest-covered hills. There are some of those tiny bridges and paths on which we can go for a walk, sit back, and listen to the sounds of nature. It’s simple, untouched, and very relaxing.
At some point of the day, we’ll take a break and taste some of the local specialties – real mountain honey and Chacha, our national grape spirit. In case you’ll feel like having something, we’ll have a meal at a family restaurant with good local food.
Your guide will be a region expert who can speak English or Russian. They will entertain you with stories and will help you make the most of the day. You will ride a smooth, spacious Mercedes Sprinter van – ideal for a mountain adventure.
No crowds, no rush – just you, the mountains, and everything in between.
